Hazel is a special girl. She is our first Yakutian Laika and our foundation bitch that is at the helm of the formation of our kennel. She was our introduction to the sport of Conformation, SprintDog and now Lure Coursing in which she has titles in all three.
Hazel began her career in sports with her entrance into SprintDog, a newly recognised sport within Australia, known as FastCAT in America. Hazel is the first Yakutian Laika in Australia to earn a title in SprintDog, and is the first Yakutian Laika to earn a title in sports, with her siblings and sire following closely after her. She was also the first Yakutian Laika to earn a title in Lure Coursing.
Hazel's current all time top recorded speed in an ANKC sanctioned event is a speed of 40kmph covering 100m in 9 seconds. At an unofficial event she was recorded at 47kmph with a speed gun.
